Senzo Meyiwa: South Africa's football national team captian Shot dead by armed men in Johannesburg.


Goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, 27, was fatally shot when armed men broke into the house where he was staying around 8pm on Sunday in Vosloorus township near Johannesburg.South Africa national police force reported that two men entered the house while one of them was outside. Senzo was reportedly shot after an argument took place between him and one of the armed men. The three assailants then fled on foot. The police service has offered a reward of nearly 153,000 rands (£8,700) for any useful information that will lead to arrests of those involved in the killing. Authorities said they would do everything possible to find the killers. South Africa has a high rate of violent crime, but it was not immediately clear whether the house where Meyiwa was staying was targeted by thieves or gunmen with another motive. He was declared dead on arrival at hospital.
