Cape Verde are ranked 33rd on the international scene, whilst they are placed fourth on the continent of Africa football ranking. Ghana, on the other hand are placed 35th on the FIFA ranking and 5th on the continent, following the recent inconsistent performances in the qualifiers, Ghana has dropped two places down. Also, the Nigeria football national team (Super Eagles) has drop 5 places to 42nd in the ranking, The Eagles are now the 9th ranked team in Africa, they are behind Algeria, Cote d’ivoire, Tunisia, Ghana, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Egypt and Senegal following their poor performance during the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers earlier this month. The super Eagles drop came after Losing 1-0 to Sudan and also playing a 0-0 draw with South Africa.
