An ancient Egyptian sarcophagus worth at least £6,000 has been discovered in a house in Essex.

An auctioneer named Mark Stacey has found a 3,000-year old coffin Colchester when he inspected a property, The wooden casket once housed the body of a noblewoman. The wooden casket will be auctioned on the 24 November 2014. View more pictures after the cut...The casket is thought to have been in the owner's family for about 60 years and may have been acquired after a museum closed down.
