Halloween party: Obama hand out candy and cookies at White House.

 

President Barack Obama and the Michelle Obama handed out candy and cookies to visitors at the White House Halloween event on Friday. At least 4,500 people attended the bash at the White House, including children from military families and schools from the area. Earlier in the day during an economic speech at Rhode Island College, president Obama joked that he would be cutting his address short in order to return to Washington for Halloween at the White House.

"I’ve got to get back and trick-or-treat tonight with Michelle,” he said. “A good thing about being president is we never run out of presidential M&Ms. And so we’re going to be giving those out."

Indian footballer "Peter Biaksangzuala" dies after awkward landing on goal celebration.

Peter Biaksangzuala, 23, fell awkwardly on his head after scoring the equaliser for Bethlehem Vengthlang FC last week. The Mizoram Premier League match in Northeast India was being televised as well as being watched live by thousands of supporters.Teammates were about to jump on the midfielder to celebrate the goal when they realised he was seriously hurt. He was stretchered off the pitched and rushed to hospital where doctors operated to try and repair his spine which was badly damaged. During the match between Marseille and Toulouse on Sunday, Marseille's coach accidentally sat on a hot cup of coffee perched on an icebox near the touchline.
