Richard Torres is a Peruvian actor and activist who tied the knot with his spouse "A Tree" at a ceremony in Bogotá's National Park on Sunday,This is not his first marriage to a tree. The reason for the ceremony was to raise awareness of environmental issues. Richard said he hoped people would take a leaf out of his book and pay more attention to the man-made environmental problems around the world. He asked that rebels from Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia change from making war to planting trees.

A dying woman "Sheila Marsh" has been granted her last wish by having her horse visit her in hospital. Mrs Marsh, 77, wish was granted when her horse "Bronwen" was transported to Wigan Royal Infirmary as her condition deteriorated. Sheila had cared for Bronwen from a foal for the last 25 years, She passed away just hours after saying farewell to the horse.

Presidents from three countries in Africa met with the military ruler of Burkina Faso on Wednesday, the agenda of the meeting was for the military to return the country to civilian rule, they stated that Military rule is no longer welcome in Africa. The presidents of Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal under the Umbrella of African Union gave Burkina Faso’s military ruler a two-week deadline to hand over power or face sanctions that could cripple the economy of the country.

The parents of another South African international star, Sibusiso Vilakazi have been robbed by gunmen while he was sleeping at their Johannesburg home. At least 4,500 people attended the bash at the White House, including children from military families and schools from the area. Earlier in the day during an economic speech at Rhode Island College, president Obama joked that he would be cutting his address short in order to return to Washington for Halloween at the White House.
