Shakira has given birth to a baby boy on January 22 at 9:36
pm (2036 GMT), in Barcelona, Spain, and has named him Milan Pique Mebarak,
ending speculations that she had delivered the baby on December 27, which happened to be
Spanish Fool’s Day and turned out to be a prank. Shakira and Gerard Pique have
set up a baby shower site in honour of their son.
This is the first child of the Columbian pop star with footballer boyfriend
Gerard Pique. The baby boy is said to be healthy weighing approximately 6lb
6oz. Both mother and child are in “excellent health”. Shakira’s website also
displays the baby shower site set up by Shakira and Gerard Pique where people
can support Unicef “in giving underprivileged babies around the globe a healthy
start in life”. On this site, visitors can contribute for immunisations,
rehydration salts and food for babies in developing countries.
