AFCON 2013 Preview and prediction.




Africa Cup of Nations will kick-off on the 19th January 2013 in South Africa, the AFCON tournament is bound to bring more shocks, last year's winners Zambia will hope to make another great run again.
Here is a quick look, and predictions for this year’s tournament...

Group A:
The host South Africa will utilise the home advantage to help qualify from this group. Morocco and Angola will be their biggest rivals in this group, Shock qualifier to the tournament Cape Verde will probably find it difficult to contest at the top of the group.
Prediction: 1st South Africa, 2nd: Morocco
Group B:
Group B contains Ghana, Mali, Niger and DR Congo. Ghana is the favourite in this group and should be able to take all nine points on offer here. The second place favourite in this group is Mali. The match that will decide the winner of the group could be between Ghana and Mali, the match will be played on the 24th January at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
Prediction: 1st Ghana | 2nd: Mali
Group C:
The group is made up of Nigeria, Zambia (defending champion), Burkina Faso and Ethiopia. Nigeria is not the team they once were but they have top class players to see them through the tournament. Zambia will also be confident of qualifying from the group.
Prediction: 1st: Nigeria | 2nd: Zambia
Group D:
The Group D has been tag the group of Death because of the countries in that group -1990 winners Algeria, last year's finalists Ivory Coast, 2004 winners Tunisia, 2006 and World Cup finalists Togo.  Ivory Coast is the favourites in this group, but the battle for second Place will be between Tunisia and Algeria.
Prediction: 1st: Ivory Coast 2nd: Tunisia
