Nigeria may have secured a ticket into next Sunday’s final of
the Orange Africa Cup of Nations, South Africa 2013 against Burkina
Faso but there are doubts whether two of their key players would be fit
for the game.
Doctors of the Nigerian team are to assess influential striking pair
of Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike after they picked up slight knocks
in their semi final victory over Mali on Wednesday. Nigeria head coach Stephen Keshi is however optimistic his strikers can recover in time before Sunday’s game. The doctor
will have to go and do some scans so we will know better,” Keshi told a
post-match press conference on Wednesday. “Hopefully, it’s not that bad. We will play (our next game) on Sunday. “We just pray to God because we need everybody in the team. We are keeping our fingers crossed,” he said. Nigeria thrashed Mali 4-1 to secure a place in the final against surprise package Burkina Faso who ousted Ghana on penalties.
