A plane crashed in the Bahamas on Sunday afternoon, killing internationally known minister and motivational speaker Myles Munroe and his wife, the Bahamian aviation ministry confirmed that there were "some fatalities" among the nine people on board. The head of youth ministries for Munroe's non-denominational Bahamas Faith Ministries International, said at a news conference on Sunday night that Munroe's wife, Ruth and the ministry's senior vice president and pastor, Richard Pinder, were among those killed in the crash. The internationally known motivational speaker had been on his way to Monday’s Global Leadership Forum hosted by the Bahamas Faith Ministries, an organization Munroe founded, when his private Learjet crashed on approach to the Grand Bahamas International airport.
The Department of Civil Aviation said the Learjet 36 crashed at 5:10 p.m. ET while making a landing approach at Grand Bahama International Airport. Munroe, a 60-year-old Bahamas native has published more than 100 spiritual and inspirational works. He is also a government and business consultant to Fortune 500 businesses, according to a biography on the Ministries website.
